Field work
Field work
The field work at Maaling is situated in three locations:
Maaling: 65 ha arable land and approx. 16 ha meadow for grazing, and a little bit of forest
Midtskov: 80 ha
Krammark (rented): 125 ha
30 kilometres to the border to Germany
There are approx. 9 kilometres from Maaling to the utmost field on Midtskov, while Krammark is situated within a distance of 5 kilometres.
Field work is an important unit of Maaling. Since 2007, we have had a machine cooperation together with our neighbours at Langballegaard. In the cooperation, we count approx. 520 ha in total and it makes the field work more efficient. All tasks are performed with own machinery, except slurry driving and maybe seeding and harvesting of maize and special crops.
We cultivate crops that can be used in our pig feeds, but also high value crops like rape seed, spinach, grass seed and maize for bioenergy.
Focus in field work is to create quality, progress and efficiency. This is achieved by having a varied field plan, where also environment and climate is taking into consideration.
