Duroc (DD)

DanBred Duroc is a red breed with a short body. It has an excellent feed efficiency and superior daily gain, and is therefore the world’s most profitable and environmentally efficient pig. It is used as terminal sire in the production of slaughtering pigs. Besides its extraordinary high daily gain and impressive high feed efficiency it produces robust and uniform progenies. Moreover, they have high lean meat percentage, that is, high amount of intramuscular fat and high pH value after slaughtering. The pure DanBred Duroc is therefore served at several gourmet restaurants. It is a very social breed, that is easy to handle.

The best of our DD boars are selected by the Danish AI stations, that is, boars with the highest index and satisfying exterior.

Many full brothers are used at AI stations outside of Denmark, and are also suitable as herd boars. All boars are DNA paternity and maternity tested due to the rules set by The Danish Agriculture & Food Council.

All LL boars are evaluated and approved by our manager Jacob Jørgensen or the owner Claus Petersen himself prior to delivery.
